5. Automation Concepts

Control based automation

• Control based automation is recognise and capture the control information within JiffyRPA. Based of the type of automation required, the properties of the controls captured varies.
• 80% of automation coverage is acheived with this approach. Controls captured would be static in nature.
• Controls can be edited manually(if required), for eg, Xpaths
• No impacts with changes in different screen resolution/Application window size/text zoom percentage etc

Dynamic controls

• Controls which changes dynamically during executions :

• Jiffy supports two ways of dynamic execution:

  • Update the UI control to make it dynamic. Dynamic values are passed through the parameters like: list, indexes, xpath, text etc. The values would be passed during execution for the parameter
  • Dynamic scripting which can be acheived using python scripting

• No impacts with changes in different screen resolution/Application window size/text zoom percentage etc

Anchor and target approach with an Image OCR as an anchor and the field to be automated as target.

It is used for automation of citrix based applications or cases when applications can be accessed only in remote machines where jiffy client cannot be installed
