How to check RabbitMQ queue?

Version: This solution is applicable for all versions of Jiffy.

Pre-requisites: RabbitMQ credentials

Steps to do:

• Login to RabbitMQ page – port number : 15672
• Uid: jif_rabbitmq/pwd: jif_rabbitmq


• Go to ‘Queues’ tab and scroll down.
• Here you will see the messages in the queue which are in ready/unacknowledged state .
• If the numbers are high or looks abnormal than expected, then please raise a ticket/email to jiffy-support@option3.io

How to check RabbitMQ diskspace?

Version: This solution is applicable for all versions of Jiffy.

Pre-requisites: RabbitMQ credentials

Steps to do:

• Login to RabbitMQ page – port number : 15672
• Uid: jif_rabbitmq/pwd: jif_rabbitmq


• Go to ‘Overview’ tab and scroll down.
• We can see the Memory and Diskspace info. If it is high, then please delete some old logs which are not required anymore and check again.
Open putty and go to /var/log/rabbitmq - Remove huge sized * .gzip log files
• Also, please contact your infrastructure team to help in reducing the memory/diskspace.

Unable to access RabbitMQ web console

Cause: This error occurs when the wrong IP/URL is being used or the RabbitMQ process running in Jiffy Server is down. This also causes ‘Internal Server Error’ in Jiffy GUI.

Solution:

• Check if the correct URL is being used: http://<JiffyServerIP:15672> OR https://<JiffyServerIP:15672> if secure.
• If the URL is correct, then verify the running process on the Jiffy Server as a root user.
• Connect to the Jiffy Server using putty or equivalent and switch to ‘root’ user. Check the status of the RabbitMQ process using the following command:
  service rabbitmq-server status
  
  
• If the process is not running, start the RabbitMQ using the following command:
  service rabbitmq-server start
• Check the status again using the following command:
  service rabbitmq-server status
  
• Now the RabbitMQ web console should be accessible.
